I'm looking into a study abroad progam in England. I have some options in London but I'm not sure if I would want to go there. It's very international. Not that I don't like international people but I wanna experience a proper british experience. Does anyone know of any cities I should consider in England where I could get the british experience? Also, a place where jobs would be easy to find as well.

YES! Go to the North-East of England. A city called 'Newcastle'. It's a great place so full of very friendly, close, real english people. Please check the city on Google. You'll learn so much from the people who live there as they are famous in England for being so friendly and British.

i've no idea what you mean by "a proper british experience" if london isn't good enough for you, or "international people". if you want to go and study somewhere without any foreigners, then prepare to be looked down on by everyone for being one yourself. most places in britain have foreigners living there, and the places that don't generally won't be accustomed to them...

that aside, small towns in yorkshire and the north are always good sources of militant nationalism.

One of the great things about the UK, is its diverse citizens. However, I would suggest going to small, industrial villages in the north of England (in the counties of Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire). There you will find many villages which will offer this experience. Mostly, I would suggest that you go and visit a rural pub, as they are an amazing experience, as they offer a slice of a traditional Britain experience.

Cambridge is beautiful. Its more East England. Only about an hour out of London. Lots of culture.
Good luck

You would be far better going to the Spanish Costa Brava as there are real thriving English communities living there. One in Ten English people now live abroad whilst all large towns and cities in England are crowded with immigrants from all the other EC countries....................
