David's Bridal often has great sales....I got my daughter's dress there and it looks custom made for her...and we got it on sale for $450.00! There is also a wedding dress site out of houston,tx that has cheap dresses that they will make just in your size and ship them to you. Best of luck on your special day!

David's Bridal is a great place to get a new wedding dress for a reasonable price. They have sale on women bridal gown for $99 for sizes 1-6. I currently got married a few month a go and I brought my dress from David's Bridal for less than $300.00. I have a very long train with a beautiful design in the front and back of my dress that really made me stand out at my wedding reception. The dress you from head to toe in the latest fashion and you know what you are going to look like before your wedding day.

I strongly recommend you purchase or borrow from the library or a friend the book Bridal Bargains by Denise and Alan Field: http://www.windsorpeak.com/bridalbargains/default.html The book features over a 100 pages packed with useful tips on choosing and purchasing your wedding gown for less. Perhaps one of their most surprising suggestions: try eBay. Also, you may have luck at a consignment shop. Try this site to find one: http://www.consignmentshops.com/
If you opt to go with David's Bridal, be cautioned that the authors of this book have received many letters from brides who've had very negative experiences with David's. Good luck!

Shop clearance racks at boutiques-go to ebay, or try this site (www.perfectbridal.com, or www.bridesave.com) on perfectbridal.com, you can pretty much enter any style number and they will get back to you within like 5 minutes with a price thats ussually half of what you will pay in a boutique. Sure and Davids bridal, you could try them, but I ABSOLUTLY HATED THEM! and the dresses looked very cheap and mass produced, plus the salespeople were very pushy, rude, and lied through their teeth-even if I very obviously looked like crap in one of the dresses, they were all-oh its beautiful on you, bla bla bla, basically pressuring me into a sale which I didn't go for.....and this was in 3 different davids bridals ive been to....I say avoid them.

If you are in or near Northern California, the gunne sax outlet is the way to go. They are all Jessica Mclintock dresses, and I got my matron of honor dress for my sister's wedding for 45.00. The same dress is selling at Macy's right now for 175! Her wedding gown was beautiful, and with alterations was 350. And we picked a more expensive one!

I am getting my dress (long, strapless, can have straps put on though) in a private shop, but to avoid paying huge amounts I am getting a "bridesmaid dress". I am getting it in ivory, but it also comes in white. It is a fraction of the cost of the dress I found at Davids - total 150.

I got a gorgeous, elegant dress at jcrew.com for about $300. It's so nice - I'll probably get it taken up a bit and maybe dyed so I can wear it in the future.

Try David's Bridal. They have a huge sale twice a year and if I'm not mistaken there should be on coming up in the beginning of the new year...good luck!
