Cuz he had eyes that looked at you when you talked to him.
Cuz he was alive and responsive and now he's a memory.
Cuz he was a friend of your soul.
Cuz you gave him your heart and he yours.
Cuz you miss your pet friend. :)
We realize they dont live forever and we love them and remember them. Its okay to do that.
All pets are different with different personalities just like people.
Your pet had a personality to match yours. It was special like you.
Take care and have happy holidays

I can understand why it hurts so much. You have a pet who becomes apart of your family. You love them as much as they love you. They are there for you and seem to know how to make you feel better. I have this cat her name is boots and when I am crying she comes up to me and its like she is telling me its ok I love you its ok. You get to know their personalites as much as they know yours. They know the buttons to push to get what they want. They become human and kind of act human. They indeed become apart of the family. And if someone has killed your dog its just like someone killed someone of your family. When you are around you pet you guys have rotines and those become apart of your life aswell. I am so sorry that someone did this to you. It hurts so much. I bet you dog was the best dog you have ever had and no dog will be just as special. But...if you were to get another dog that dog can be speical in another way. Maybe you should get another dog that way you have love to give to another. It wont be the same but it will be special in another way. That way you can turn that hurt for love for another.

Because your grieving,a pet like that is like a family member,so you go through the normal greiving process and its also hard because you were away at the time, take care and your pain will ease eventually

It hurts because you have feelings. You bonded with your dog, you cared for him and about him, you were close, and then the most important is b/c you love him.
I can relate..I went thru that with my puppy.
I am sorry for your loss.
