What do you know about Hamlin (?spelling) near Rochester NY?

We are moving there shortly and wonder how that community stands up as far as education (7 year old); taxes, neighborhood (would it be safe for our son to play outside, etc. etc.

I use to live on the border of Hilton and Hamlin near Lake ontario and Charlotte Beach. Hamlin is a beautiful town, a lot of wealthier people live there, VERY safe for kids to play outside and the Hilton School District is EXCELLENT! My neices go there. However, taxes are a bit high.
