The Nutcracker is a famous ballet of a girl given a present of a nutcracker in the form of a soldier its alovely story, or it is a object to crack nuts from thier shells lol, take your pick, merry christmas

A ballet...you should check out the Harlem Nutcracker, performed by the Dance Theater of Harlem...excellent.

Either a tool for cracking nuts. Or a ballet. Quite why anyone should call a ballet the nutcracker I have no idea!

As has already been said, it is a ballet about a girl who was given a nutcracer (tool for craking nut shells) in the form of a soldier. What I can add is that the music was by Chopin.
