The doubled recipe calls for 4 cups of flour. It already has 3 cups in the batch and is the last ingredient to be added. Is there anything I can substitute or do I really need flour for the last cup for it to come out right? (I accidentally grabbed a bag of sugar instead of flour at the grocery store last week.)

I can't modify the rest of the recipe, because like I said, it's the last ingredient to be added. Everything else is already done.

Yes you need the flour to come out right, you can go to the store, or borrow from your neighbor i guess. Sorry, hope this helps! good luck!

I would think a cup of bisquick would be OK...or other baking mix.

Or do you have any Wondra thickener? You might use 1/2 a cup of that and 1/2 a cup of Bisquick.

You are not making delicate little pastries so the banana bread can be quite forgiving with different ingredients.

Also, bisquick has a banana bread recipe right on it's box...I'm sure it would be different than the flour version but you really have nothing to lose because all of the ingredients are mixed, you would waste tons of time at the store...

Live life on the wild side...try the Bisquick!

why don't u just modify the rest of the recipe to match how much flour you do have. use 75% of the called for amounts of the other ingredients. You should be good.

Knock on your neighbors door and ask for a cup of flour.
We don't do this often anymore.

Wish them a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, after you tell them thank you for the cup of flour.

There ! you've spread cheer and got your cup of flour.

DO NOT mess with the recipe unless it is planned or you will ruin all your hard work and land up with something not enjoyed.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
