You want to put all eggs in a pan with water, once it starts boiling time it for 13 minutes. after 13 minutes run entire pan under cold water so the eggs stop cooking. you will know they are hard boiled when you try to spin them and they spin fast. Raw eggs spin slow.

If the egg was from the fridge, and put in boiling water, set the timer at 6.15 minutes (don't forget to put a pinch of salt in the boiling water to keep the egg from cracking)
If the egg is from room temperature, put in medium warm water to be boiled, set the timer for 6 minutes
If the egg is from room temperature, put in boiling water, set the timer for 5 minutes
If then you'd like to know whether the egg is hard boiled or not, when the timer goes just crack the egg a bit, and if there isn't a sign of the white popping out, it's done.
DING!!!

The best way to hard boil eggs is to put the eggs in cold water. Bring to a boil. Once the water is boiling turn off the heat. Cover the pot. Wait exactly 20 minutes. Put under cold running water. Done perfectly. No dark sulfer ring around yolks.

I know this is going to sound funny but I swear it works....

First to make your life easy please wait until the water has come to a full boil, then place the eggs in. I usually wait about 12 minutes... here is the strange part... with a spoon take the egg out and if the shell dries quickly then its hard boiled. Dont know why it works... My boss told me that and its been correct everytime. I still think its a funny way to check but hey it never hurts to try right? :)

Not exotic, very mechanical
Got this from Jacques Pepin or America's Test Kitchen -- forgot.

Put eggs in a pot of cold water.
Bring to boil.
Turn off heat, cover, and leave in this water for 22 minutes.
Cool Eggs -- I usually just run cold water into this hot water, until water is cool.
Now get eggs cold - dump water, replace with cold water ( I usually add ice cubes here - don't need to) and let stand.
I'll usually let stand from 20-30 minutes doing something else during this time.

The are now ready for whatever you desire.

I usually cook more than I immediately need -- marking top of egg (roundest end) with an X using a marker, placing them in an ideal holder - the egg carton, X side up so I can easily identify them.
Makes for a nice protein snack.

The incredible edible egg. ( I think I'm brainwashed with this slogan)

There is no way to tell when it's done. It usually takes 10 minutes in a slow boil.

Set your timer for 12 minutes after you have placed the eggs into the boiling water.

When you spin the egg on its fat end, it should not wobble!

you have to test it and crack one open. It usually takes 5-8 minutes for eggs to boil though.

Lay it sideways on the counter, and spin. If it spins cleanly and evenly, it's hard-cooked. If it wont' spin, but just wobbles a bit, it's raw.
