I see this everyday on here. But I have never seen a pagan whining about " why do we have to put up with them?"
I don't see the Hindus, the Budhist, the agnostics or even the Muslims asking this.
Is it because their beliefs are based on scientific fact that can't be disproven? You really can't argue with knowledge that is being taught all over the world in schools and Universities.
Is it offensive that most Atheist are good people even with out any religious structure in their life? The purpose of religion is to make someone a better person, but if they are a good person already then they wouldn't need it.
OR, is it the fact that they take responsability for their own actions and don't blame it on some imaginary being? Personally, I find this trait quite honorable!
So I ask again. If these people have a very well grounded, well balanced and strong foundation for their personal spiritual belief, why do so many of you want them out?
I think they are intellectually stimulating!

It's not just you - I'm sure if more Wiccans and Pagans posted they'd be screaming for us to get booted as well. If you aren't of a Abrahamic tradition they don't want you here.

And I'm shocked that you got a thumb's down for this. Shocked! Amazed. Stunned. ;-)

Happy Solstice!

You must be a very unhappy person if you are truly concerned what people think of you... Believe what you want you have that right just as much as I do. I myself can not speak for everyone else, but just as I am interested in national geographic points and views on the bible and religion because they investigate both sides of the matter and address the two intellectually and with bias I am interested in what true Atheist have to say...

What I am not interested in is those who claim to be Atheist yet all they do is say hateful things like "oh go fvck yourself, you righteous tvvatt" found in this question http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkDW8cU7urX56Zhu5h9JHhfsy6IX?qid=20061222084928AAUSgX1&show=7#profile-info-265caa351c9505ec3385f23a1aef90f3aa

As a matter of fact why don't you look at about 5 of the questions aimed at fellow Christians that are not offensive to anyone yet every Athiest that answers answers in hate...

Never have I seen an Athiest bashing a Pagan, or Wiccan, I have seen some bash Muslims I have even seen some of my fellow Christians do it.

So there is some reasoning behind Christians saying "Why do we put up with them" I mean we are christian yet still human and human beings can only take so much. Now if every Athiest approached the topic in a civil mannaer the way you have may be there would be no whinning just allot of debates and intellectual conversation?

Hmmmm, interesting.

Well, there does seem to be far more animosity between atheists and Christians than between atheists and followers of other religions, but it's not true that atheists don't say things like "it's all just stupid superstition" to Pagans and others. They do.

But Pagans, at least, don't react by evangelizing, so maybe that's why it doesn't escalate.

Personally, I would not want atheists kicked off of R&S and I *absolutely* understand why atheists would have a concern about religion(s).

The problem is because the Atheists arent calling Hindus, Pagans or Buddhists "Retarded" "Pedophiles" and every other colorful name you will find on this list even as we speak. I dont have a problem with ALL the atheists here, only the ones who think it is a good thing to treat Christians like crap. Just scroll down the list for a bit and see how many Atheists you can find just talking downright nasty to Christians. But for the record, they do bash Muslims too, just not as often.

You've never seen a pagan whining 'why do I have to put up with them'? Everybody is whining here. Where have you been? I would love to see your questions and answers here too. Yeah, there is a lot of trash, but for the most part, I agree, it is intellectually stimulating, as well as, a place for all beliefs to express and converse. I am a christian and thanks for being here.

Basically it's because only the "Christian" nation of the USA is afraid of us big, bad atheists. The fundies are told to be afraid of a "secular progressive" agenda and they believe. The European nations have pretty much embraced plurality.
Actually, I have seen some Moslems asking this but only a very few very late at night (probably because its day in their region).

For the same reason they criticize everyone else for doing what they do and go to great lengths to cover up when they do it. Anyone who can worship a trinity and insist that his religion is monotheism can rationalize anything just give him time.

In reality, it is all of us. What will you do if the Taliban, or some such group, comes into power? They will do worse than throw you out of R&S. Acutally, I don't want you thrown out, how else would I be able to tell you the truth about the love of Jesus? A Blessed Christmas to you.

It's also that same religion that is so vocal about how wrong everyone on the planet EXCEPT them is. It's just a megalomaniac thing; don't give it any more thought than it deserves.
