I think there's more to it than just how many people you date. I think being a player means you're being dishonest. No one calls Hugh Heffner a player, and he lives with three girls. But everyone knows and everyone is okay with the situation.

It's also a good way to make some enemies. Women won't like you for their own womanly reasons, (the whole multiple dating thing really pisses them off, or at least sensible women don't like it), and men won't like you, BECAUSE YOU'RE TAKING UP ALL THE HOT WOMEN!! =)

I think if it is strictly just as friends without touchy feely kissy then that's OK but if it is a kissy feely situation and not tell it would make one a player.
