Time and keeping your mind busy with other things...i.e. overcompensating in other aspects of your life.
Sad to say the broken heart never quite fully recovers if you truly loved and got badly hurt. You do grow much more stronger and dont cry easily afterwards and become much more cynical about people and new relationships. (wtf....I sound bitter and twisted, lol)........nah seriously give it time, eventually /hopefully you are fully healed when you at last meet someone who appreciates your love and can reciprocate it!

I am sorry to say that the best way to mend a broken heart is time. As the old adage goes "time heals all wounds." As we move on and the memory becomes more distant we are no longer constantly harrowing up our minds with the feelings of loss that we have. One thing to note is that love is not a one time thing and even though many will say you are just "on the rebound" you will eventually find someone or something to partially take the place of the love that you lost.

First you cry a little then you look at all the notes you still have that he gave you, then you cry some more and then you think of the nice things about him while you cry then you think of all the mean things he's done, then you get his picture and throw stuff at it, then you rip the picture or you don't have to then you cry a little more and you keep crying, then you think of the chance that you'll have to meet other great guys that will be in the future, the thing not to do is don't call him and talk to him forever on the phone that will make things worse!

first, try forgetting him, unless you guys are still
'firends'
dont go try liking someone else
because you figure you'll get over him.
just keep your friends close.
they'll be there for you.
if a majority of them are in a relationship,
it'll be difficult.
then you can treat yourself to a dinner,
movie, bath, chocolate, and your favorite chick flicks.
worked for me.
:)
you'll be back on your feet in no time.
