You can go to a reputable pet store or Feed Store where you are able to purchase vaccines for animals. Most usually carry Terimician. This is a optical cream that you can use to help heal the eye. Most vets are just going to give you the same thing in one form or another.

If your dogs eye is scratched the dog needs a vet. Pet get ill and injured, requiring a vet. I would bet if your husband had his eye scratched he would be at the doctor's office. Infection could set in, then it would cost even more to be treated.

Ignore your husband and take the dog to the vet. If his eye is swollen, it means that it could possibly be infected. If the scratch is bad and left untreated, your dog could potentially lose the sight in that eye.

How about using this logic on your husband... if your dog needs medical care and you do not provide it, you are in violation of animal cruelty laws that could mean arrest, a fine and possibly jail time.

You need to get the dog to the vet.

With all due respect, your husband has no idea what is going on. What looks like a simple infection could be a multitude of things. It is possible that the dog's eye infected, and it could be a bad situation if it doesn't get any treatment.

Tell your husband to stay out of this, because if something were to go wrong, he'd be at fault. Take the dog to the vet anyways. They will be able to check his eye for surface scratches, and give you proper eye drops, if need be.

It could be anything from swelling due to trauma to the eye, a scratched cornea or an infection. I think you should do right by your pet and take her to the vet.

A dogs eye is as sensitive as a humans, I strongly recommend that you take your dog to his vet to have his eye treated. Please tell your husband that both dogs and cats eyes can get quickly damaged and if your dogs eye is swollen and/or scratched it will not get better on its own and can be very painful. Please seek medical attention for your dog.

you need to go to the vet and have them do a stain on the dog's eye. it could ulcerate and cause many problems if not treated with proper meds.
