I know that you do not want to hear this but, quit eating so much. No other way.

Watch what you eat and dont sit in front of the tv all day. You should be able to get up and at least walk around, you dont have to jog and do too much that your asthma acts up. But maybe walk around the mall or something of that sort. Eating a low blood sugar diet is an awesome way to keep your body healthy and great way to keep a nice figure. But you have to stick to the diet. However, its not really a diet, its just a healthy way of eating.

First, read a history (I know, history is boring...) book on Teddy Roosevelt. He had really bad asthma, and a 98-pound weakling. He decided to work out, and eventually became a champion boxer, cowboy, decorated soldier, and Amazon explorer. Oh, he also was the President of the United States too. All of that was without modern medicine.
Second, you can exercise with asthma. In fact, there are pro athletes who have asthma. Some of them include:
# Jerome "The Bus" Bettis (NFL star of the Pittsburgh Steelers)
# Amy Van Dyken (Olympic gold medalist in swimming)
# Jackie Joyner-Kersee (Olympic gold medalist in track and field)
# Nancy Hogshead (Olympic gold medalist in swimming)
# Art Monk (NFL leading receiver for the Washington Redskins until 1995)
# Greg Louganis (Olympic gold medalist in diving)
# Jim "Catfish" Hunter, (Baseball Hall of Famer)
# Isaiah Thomas, (former NBA basketball player)
# Dominique Wilkens, (former NBA basketball player)
# Dennis Rodman (former NBA basketball player)
# Mary Jo Fernandez, a top women's tennis professional in the 1990s
Therefore, I don't "buy" your argument that you can't work out.
Third, to lose 1-2 pounds a week, you need to run a 500-calorie deficit every day. That means either eat 500 fewer calories (one order of McD's fries), or burn off 500 exercising (on HARD hour on the treadmill), or some combination.

Go to a doctor and see if you really NEED to lose weight 1st. Listen to whatever healthy plan he gives you and really do it. When I was 13 I didn't listen to the healthy way, I did it the quick way. But listen, it's the smartest and most efficient. As for your asthma, just avoid heavy working out. Weight loss is done 80% through dieting.

I'm 17 years old and also have very bad asthma. I try and do some excersize like swimming, which is very good excersize and also very good for your athsma. the doctor told my sister to swim and that it is the excersize which is least likely to provoke athsma. Stay away from running. also try dancing.
Cut down on high kilojule foods because since your not able to be very active, your body doesnt use those kilojules. also stay away from energy/sports drinks,as this is for active people and also contains many kilojules.Carbohydrates like pasta, potatoes and spaghetti, bread, etc. is also a no-no because it contains alot of energy(high energy foods) which your body won't use,so it will store it as fat. If you want to you can eat wholeweat/brown bread, stay away from white bread!!!!
Anything deep fried or prepared in oil in any way is a no-no! If something has to be fried in preparation, rather use low fat margerine or olive oil. Veggies and fruit has to be in every meal you eat. If you feel hungry and crave something fatty or fattening, fill up on fruit and veggies and drink plenty of water. replace any sugar that you use(over your cereal,in tea or coffee, etc.)with sweetener.Replace cheese with low fat cheese. drink less coffee, use low fat milk or even better, fat free. Never eat anything after 07:30 coz that's when your metabolism slows down to prepare for bed.
Use the steps instead of the elevator/escalator.take walks with your dogs, or if you don't have dogs, ask a friend to take a walk with you. If you eat popcorn, don't use microwave popcorn, coz it contains high kilojule substanses which it uses to pop. rather make fresh popcorn with a bit of olive oil on the stove or make air popped popcorn.stay away from sodas and sugary drinks. Read tags with nutritional information before you eat it. look at the energy content, the fat content, the carbohydrate content which includes sugars and starch.
Eat slowly, it gives your brain chance to tell your body that your full,so youll be able to realise your full and stop eating.if you eat fast, youll only realise that you ate more than you needed after you've finished all your food.
That's all i can think of now...I'll post again if I remember something else! Good luck and remember: where there's a will there's a way!!!

With asthma you should be able to still do moderate exercise like walking, so I would go for a 20-30 minute walk every day.

Eat 600 calories a day. That means 200 calories for each meal, and drink plenty of water & green tea. Your daily deficit should be around 1300. 1300x7= 9100. Divide it by 3500 calories (1 lb fat) and it's about 2.6. That means you will lose around 2.6 lb a week. Good luck :)

Are you able to get adequate health care?
With the proper medication and preventative medication, you should be able to at the very least, exercise, or even enjoy sports.
I've had severe asthma my entire life + allergies, so I know how difficult it can be. But you've got to get the right medication first.

Gentle exercise walking and swimming are very good and may help improve your cardio-vascular fitness aiding your asthma.
Start with walking and then swimming if you feel more comfortable step it up a bit. If you are worries about an attack then do it with another person a buddy you trust.
Always push yourself gently fitness takes time to achieve no quick fixes.

having asthma does not mean that you can not exercise at all, it just means you have to do it within the guidelines provided and recommended to you by your doctor. You walk everyday, so why not start a walking regimen or bicycling...of course, check with your physician for medical ok first.

Ashley: you may want to check with your doctor to see if swimming will be able to help you. Even walking a mile a day can condition your legs and your lungs to help you to become more active. He may be able to prescribe some treatments for you so that you may be able to become more active.
Good luck and I hope it works out well for you.
