All Circle of Raphael talismans contain only pure and positive energies and it is totally impossible for any of them to ever function on a negative level. The sole purpose of a talisman is to attract benefits, blessings and opportunities to its owner. In carrying out this task a talisman must function in accordance with the supreme cosmic law, which states that humans are free to follow their heart's desire and seek happiness and security by whatever means are available to them, but they must not harm anyone or living creature in the process. This simply means that while a talisman must always look after the best interest of its owner, it may NOT harm, or cause stress to any other living creature while carrying out its function. Circle of Raphael talismans can only act on a positive level, by attracting only positive and beneficial angelic & planetary blessings to their owners.

It is not evil. It is just not Christian. Serpents symbolize knowledge. The symbol of the serpents around the staff is used by the medical field..... Unless you find medicine to be evil..... Anyway, it is as far from angelic as it is Christian. Are you a pagan or spiritualist?

That symbol is called a Cadeusa. It represents medics in the U.S. Army. It is a symbol of healing originating from a statue that God commanded Moses to erect for the Isrealites in the desert. The Isrealites that were bitten by poisonous snakes needed only to look upon that staff, and have faith, and they were healed.

Is it the symbol of medicine where two snakes are intertwined around a staff with wings on both sides?

From the description, sounds like it's based on the cadeuceus (I doubt I spelled that right), which is an old symbol of healing--widely used today in the medical profession. Not a thing evil about it, and again, commonly a symbol of doctors.

Aha, caduceus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caduceus
