~You were treated like crap too hu? I think you should get your money back. Call everyone within the sheriffs dept. and courthouse until you find someone who will help you.
What I also find fascinating is that a policeman of 25 years cannot spell "verify."
Police are constantly making mistakes and never suffer from it.
Good Luck & Merry Christmas~

You went to jail for a reason, trust me. When you went to court, they may have cancelled it as a failure to appear. But did you take care of the origianl charge, that you failed to appear on. And in most states if your stopped and a warrant is issued, the officer will have the warrant varified, if its still active, to arrest you, or not active, no arrest. I have stopped an individual and found to have a warrant on file. I had it varified by the department to find out if it was active. Once the sheriffs department notifies me one way or the other, then I have my probable action to take. I had a case one time that I arrested the person. Prior to taking them to jail, I varified it with the sheriffs department. I found out that is wasn't active. At that time the individual was released and the sheriffs department pulled the warrant.
When you dad bailed you out, I'll bet that he paid the 10 % of the total cost, at which time he will not get back. That is the bondsmans fee for processing the paperwork to get you out of jail. If he paid the whole about of the bond, then once you appeared in court, you would get your money back.

If the warrant was not removed from the system after the court canceled it, then that is why you went to jail.

Sadly, mistakes like this happen. Your only recourse would be to get a lawyer to look into it for you and file a civil suit if you so desire.

You will get it back when you go to court.
That's what bail is. Money you put up to ensure you show up at court.
They'll give it back. Talk to the DA, tell them you have already been to court for the warrant before they arrested you.

You'll have to get an attorney, best just let it go. If you persue it it will only make matters worse and unless you LOVE drama let it go.
