Cooking Crisp Packets

my mates brother did this, i was so impressed when i was younger. unfortunatley he wouldnt tell me how to do it as he was trying to sell them as keyrings

EDIT - flatten between non stick baking parchment between two baking trays and leave in the oven at 190 degrees for 8-10 mins, then put the parchment and crisp packet in the freezer and let it cool for 5 mins.

it also says modern day plastics in crisp packets are different to 10 years ago. it might not work with modern packets

Yay! I remember doing that!

We just did them under the grill and they only took a minute or so to shrink.

We used to stick safety pins in the back of them before they shrank to turn them into badges.

I'd forgotten all about that until now! It was brilliant!

you must be crackers or bored, but the packets are made out of different stuff now a days, i don't think it would work why not try cooking something to eat instead.

Yes, we used to call them shrinky dinks and shrink them before an open fire ! I don't know of any exact temperature, probably trial and error!
