I consider it a sin towards the gift of life God gave us. Excessive eating and drinking puts our life at risk in some way. We know about that.
Our body can cope with getting to much food on holidays now and then.

Gluttony is a way of life. A little overindulgence doesn't hurt every now and then. What's the point of a celebration if you don't let loose and LIVE!

Glutteny is a sin, but stuffing yourself on mom's homemade punkin pie once or twice a year isn't glutteny. Glutteny is when you over-indulge all year round. It's when you know you should stop, but you never do. Over eating at Christmas, Thanksgiving and EAster (big feast days in my house) isn't a sin, as long as that's the only time you gorge yourself.

Good question. I am always eating, but I weigh 114 pounds and I am always hungry.
I think that one should TRY to keep themselvs for overeating because it can make them ill. It is usually not a good way to keep the body God gave you in perfect shape, but how much is right is up to the individual I guess...

People should stop overeating, period. simply to preserve their health. (not that I have much room to talk)

While it is traditional to feast on delicacies as part of holiday or life-cycle celebrations, a taste of each is sufficient....one need not consume the whole turkey.

It is sinful to overindulge in such pleasures. The "holidays" are so skewed nowadays. Oh well, they'll learn in due time.
