msn messenger still starts at boot up even though i have unselected it several times from the startup menu via msconfig. it starts up unsigned in but it has become irrating. this is a new pc running xp and the default start up i noticed was set on selective startup any ideas please?

Sign into messenger
Click on show menu at top of page
Click on Tools,Options, general
And remove the tick box out of automatically run windows on start up.

You have to go into the options (Tools, options) and uncheck the box to start up MSN at Computer start up. Msconfig alone wont do it. Hope that helps!

go to tools on msn messenger click on options and deselect the options tht say msn messenger run on start up i ad tht prob yesterday lol
msn messenger has a option to make it run at start up

mine did that too. Have u deleted ur email and password information? When I made sure I'd deleted that it had no info to connect with

It could have been renamed although i dont know why it would why dont you uninstall it and use www.e-buddy.com from now on as no software is needed
