i have a daughter who is 11 i want know what kinds of cells would be good for her...and i dont really want the cheap kid ones

--You can restrict certain times that your kid can call out/calls can be received. (that way no one can call your kid at 2am!!)
--You can send messages from your computer to the phone
--You can monitor the phone usage and set a usage "allowance" for the phone
--You can locate your kids phone using GPS from your computer
The phones are moderately priced. Some you can get for free through rebates. They have family plans (if you get a phone too) or individual plans (incl. a kid starter plan).
I think this is the best option for an 11yr old. Contrary to belief... the phones don't look childish at all, so she will feel "grown up"

There are all sorts of phones now designed for kids, as well as pay & go phones. Check with your cell phone provider, and see what options they have. There is also the Disney phone available, which allows for you to track the location of the phone and therefore of your child.

Boost mobile - if her friends have the same one which most of them do you can put her on a plan where she can walkie talkie for free. It's still pre-paid so she doesn't get carried away on the phone, and you don't have to worry about getting a cell phone bill that is too high from overage. I just brought my nephew a boost for christmas since his mother and I both have nextels it works out, and his friends have boosts as well. Try it out.

11 years don't really need cell phones. It's a waste of money in my opinion. Anyways I don't think most pre teens care about cell phones aslong as they have one. But I am a teenager I prefer a Flip Phone over those cheap non flip phones.
A razr is nice , they've gone down in price but break easiley. I think they go for 70$USD

maybe a cellphone that does have a camera. i perfer a samsung cellphone for your 11 year old. and i think the disney ones are okay, but too childish.

oh i was gonna say the disney ones you can check on her & if she is a brat 1 day you can cancel the phone for however long you feel like doing then just turn it back on!

try Disney Mobile. You can always track where they are, limit thier minutes and control who they call!

get the disney phone so you can keep track of when they can use thier phone and see what they are doin exctly on thier phone also!!!
