I’ve been seeing this guy (39 years old) for 1 month now… I think he does know that I’m 27 years old… I spoke to him last night and he wanted to find out about my age… Told him about my age and he was a bit surprised… He casually mentioned that 26-30 years old aren’t interested going out with him or vice versa he doesn’t go out with someone younger… I don’t know now whether he would go out with me again.. I’m a bit confused??

He probably doesn't typically find mutual interest or connection with those under 30 yrs old...don't sweat it, since he got to know you a bit then if he did enjoy your company he'll ask you out again (regardless of your age)...

If he enjoyed going out with you but doesn't call again because he found out you were a bit younger than he thought (but still very much an adult) then he's not worth wasting time with anyway...

I don't agree with the guy below. It does seem like he is concerned about being with someone 10+ years younger than him but 40 years old is not so old that his concerns are retirement and you are almost 30 so your concerns are not dancing in topless bars. That is irrelevant. I'm just as lost as you are. I don't know if this guy still is interested in going out with you again. You should ask him how he feels about it. I know it's difficult because it's an awkward question. But you can just ask like, "The other day you seemed pretty weirded out by my age, is that going to be a problem?" And rememebr, if it doesn't work out, at least you are not left in limbo. Good luck.

He was just speaking on prior experiences. He's obviously found you interesting before he found out your age, so why would it change now that he does know you age? I think you should talk to him about it. You're age is just a number...it's who you are on the inside that really matters.

I think he may be concerned that you would have interests that are too different from his. For example, he may be interested in investing and preparing for his retirement while you're wanting to go to the carribean and dance all night in a topless bar...(or some variation thereof)

just show him your grown up to his standards, call him and ask him out . after all you two have gone out so ask him out and be what he wants.
it is a very Small difference in age anyway if he was 70 then well..but come on .do not throw this great guy away, go after him and make it work, age DOES NOT MATTER at all

smile
good luck
