Because it is being done? So is the law I found correct?

I'm not sure about Nebraska law.

But in many states you need either 1) permission of both parties to record a conversation, or 2) a warrant from a judge. In other states, one party can record even if the other doesn't know -- but sometimes the recording is not admissible evidence if the police are using the person to get around the requirement for a warrant.
