Was this vessel a real gunboat or was it converted from some other vessel if so which vessel?

I don't mean the movie name of the ship I know in the movie it's called San Pablo

The "US San Pablo" is a sailing and shooting replica of a US Navy gunboat uset on mainland China rivers during the 1920s.

Amazing stuff: look close in the film and you will notice a radar reflector in the mast area.

The San Pablo was fictional but based on several old pieces of junk the US had "inherited" from Spain in the Spanish-American War. I'm amazed they made it from the Philipines to China in the first place.
