The gestation period is 63 days, give or take a couple. Just like people, the puppies can be 1-2 days early or late without a problem. If it has been more than 65 days, I recommend speaking with your veterinarian as this can be a sign of problems. You can also better tell when your dog may deliver her puppies by taking her temperature each day at the same time (morning or evening). Her temperature will usually drop a couple degrees within 48 hours of delivery. Note: if you are not comfortable doing this, or would like more information, you should contact your veterinarian.

Dogs have a gestation period of 63 days regardless of breed. It should happen around 63, could be a day or two either way.

It's the length of time it is pregnant.
