to the point that they spend too much time and effort, not to mention money, to spread so much of their opinions about Catholicism? sorry, but i just don't get it. i've started studying Catholicism for almost a month now, and there are so many misconceptions about Catholicism that i've dicovered. can anyone please enlighten this humble soul why they seem to exert so much effort in spreading their opinions? i mean, what's in it for them?

i was born with no religion whatsoever so i decided to seek for truth myself, and i have observed a lot about other religions. this is the reason why i am asking this.

Arrogance and ignorance have a habit of getting their way.

Timeless...

Perhaps it has a lot do with the Scripture found in Rev. 22:18-21.

We can not add too or take away from the Holy Bible. Period. There are no other Holy books. There is only one Holy Book and it's the Bible.

I would recommend reading the book of Jude (book before Revelation). It's short and will take all of 7-10 minutes (if that).

Then read 3 John, 2 John and 1 John. These too are very short books in the Holy Bible and hold many, many nuggets of truth that we as Christians need.

Hope that helps!

Merry Christmas.

The problem most Protestant Christians have with Catholicism is that most Catholic traditions are not Biblical and sometimes against what the Bible teaches. I used to be Catholic and am now nondenominational Christian. I do not HATE the Catholics, but I dont agree with many of the teachings. I also have not spent a dime in giving my opinions.

I was raised Catholic, but now consider myself a Pentecostal Christian. I used to take offense at the things my Protestant friends would say about Catholics. However, there are many rituals and beliefs the Catholic church practices that are not biblical (infant baptism, praying to saints, the "worship" of Mary, the idea of Mary always being a virgin, etc) but I still believe that they are Christians. We shouldn't point out "flaws" in another denomination, but rather seek to understand why they believe what they believe. Jesus loves Catholics just as much as he loves Protestants.

While I don't believe in Catholicism as being the "true religion", I do have a deep respect for those that have enjoined themselves to that faith. You don't need others' opinions, you need your own. If Catholicism is right for you, go for it.

Christian Fundamentalist is an entire contradiction in words! CHRISTIAN – A follower or believer in Jesus. FUNDAMENTALIST one that believes the Bible is relatively actual and could be observed precisely. for this reason they are followers of the bible and not Jesus making them non Christians! yet worse is to stick to it additionally makes them ideologists. IDEOLOGY an concept it relatively is fake or held for the incorrect motives yet is assumed with such conviction as to be irrefutable. So Christians have a loving and forgiving god and fundamentalist - nicely - basically are no longer Christians!

In the 3rd chapter of John's Gospel, Christ Himself says "You must be born again."
This applies to everybody, including Catholics.

Sometime "born again" Christians feel the need to waste energy pointing out the faults of others and their faith. Some will say it is because they are trying to "enlighten" those they insult...but I wonder sometimes....
It is sad though...
