NO, it's a lifetime commitment. Once you enter and accepted the order that's for life. But if you want to break that vow by resigning from your commitment, God will understand your case. He's a merciful God, not a by condemning God. Above all, He is a Just and Loving God.

In a manner of speaking, yes they can. I've worked with one. No different from a nun giving back her vows and going back into non-religious life.
