I would still love them, but I would just know that, that meant I could not be with them.

Yes. I wanted to be a nun. I fell in love and well it didn't work out. I'm going through a divorce. If you love someone, you love someone. Doesn't matter what profession they take up, unless they hurt people- then you better not love that person.
But you need to realize that if you love a monk/nun there won't be any physical love. And that person is giving their heart to God. They could still love you too.

For me that would have to depend on how serious our relationship was at the time and for what reasons he/she was becoming a nun/monk. And if relationships are even allowed in what ever it is they are joining.

Sure... but he probably wouldn't love me. Monks and Nuns are "married" to the church!

hah my boyfriend would never decide to do that. but of course i would still love him. Unfortunatly monks/nuns are not allowed to have relationships other than with God so it would be heartbreaking. We wouldn't be able to be together. i'd probably try to convince him otherwise....

My fiance actually told me that he concidered becomming a monk very seriously. If that had been decision, I'd support it. I'd be so devastated that he couldn't be with me anymore, but if his faith and devotion to the Lord is that great, I'd have to honor the decision.

Yes...even if our love would become impossible...but if he did that, then it means he isn't really in love with me...when you have a monk vocation you can't love a woman...it would be kind of a difficult situation....

I'd still love him, we just couldn't be together anymore obviously. Sex is very important in my relationships.
