all the way down to the sacrum. there may not be any CSF down that low but the dura and meninges exist there.

he's right it goes all the way down until the filum terminale by teh sacrum and goes back up via brain stem (medulla oblongata, pons, and midbrain) to the dicephalon.(third ventricle). it repeats this process.
