I believe Dick Cheney and George W. Bush are holding up pulling troops out of Iraq. If they pull the troops out they will be admitting that the invasion and war was a big mistake.

What is holding us back is (1) common sense and (2) human decency. And those who have a clue what kind of fight we have don't ask that sort of question. I'm not thrilled about the way things have been handled, either, but I have yet to find anybody against the war who has any idea what it is he's against. This is not a war like Desert Storm or WW II. The strategy and tactics have to fit the situation, and a quick in-and-out is never right for this kind of war.

Remember when the Democrats surrendered and wanted to pull the troops out?
Well. They have now changed their minds.
They want to win in Iraq because they control Congress.
Who fell for Democrat lies?

The republicans don't want to be seen as failing in Iraq, better to leave the soldiers in there and leave the next administration to deal with the messy details.

Bush's selfish pride is the reason why Americans continue to be killed in Iraq.

Its sad that our troops are getting killed, but pulling out without haven finished the job would be worthless... Security must be restored.

the real question is, what is holding the U.S. back from winning the Damn thing.
If we'd been serious, we would have been done and home two years ago.
My guess is, it's the cry babies wanting to run who are holding everything back, therefore are responsible for the fact that the U.S. is still over there poking it with a stick! (and being killed, as you say)

Because defense contracors such as--AHEM--Halliburton need to keep making record profits by overcharging the gov't so they can make sure a Bush-clone becomes the next US president.

Lies and stupidity.
They think if they pull out then Iraq will collapse or something. As if this hasn't already happened.
