Get a tatoo inside your lower lip?

See.....My house burnt down on April-21-2005. and i wanted to get the date 04-21-05 tattooed inside my lower lip just as a reminder to myself of the fire. is that too odd?

Or should i get the tattoo somewhere else? I want it somewhere no one else can see it, but i don't want it somewhere perverted!

ok, from readin some of the answers i've revieved i have some stuff to add....

first of all, Tinaw2006, it's not a waist on money. I htink if your home burnt down too, you'd think differently.

secondly, soolia, actually, yes the skin in your mouth is a lot more tender there, but i have a friend with a tattoo there and she's had it for 5 years and it's fine. so i doubt it wont work out like i planned. but thanks anyways.

exactoknifefight, good point. i shouldn't worry about if others htink it's weird or not. I want it there, so if any other people don't like it they can suck it up.

i dont think it is weird at all. if thats what you wanna do then do it. like you said - you wont be able to see it. just be carefull though who you go to cause the inside of you lip is a very hard place to get it done. it is very easy to hit the blood level which means it will be a big black blur. it wont hurt you or anything you just wont be able to see what it was supposed to be.

Yes.
But the real problem is how, really, is that going to remind you, because you cant even see it???
Maybe you should get one somewhere that other people can see, but not somewhere where it stands out. Like on your ankle.
Also, I dont think it would really be much of a tatoo, because skin is really delicate there, and its kind of inside your mouth, you know?? It may not work out the way you plan it to be.

no that's fine...on a show called "parental controll" the two people going out bot a tattoo on the inside of their lower lips say ing "sweet, dude"

if that's what you want to do then go for it. but i would chose somewhere else. there are tons of "hidden" places that aren't perverted. you could get it on your foot. on your hip or on your ribcage. anyway, good luck with your tattoo and i'm sorry your house burned down. i know it is a devastating thing.

i think thats a great idea. its secretive but you'll always remeber what happened. plus no one can see it unless you show them

but i have heard that when you get a tattoo in your lip it can go away in about two years, but that doesnt always happen and could be another untrue rumor... i'd ask your tattoo artist

I have my childrens footprints tattooed on my back. I believe that a tattoo should mean something, wether people can see them or not. I think you should believe in what YOU think is right, and if it feels right to have that with you forever....then go with your heart.

I think that it's really weird to get it there. Do you plan on forgetting that day? It's just really odd to do something like that. You'll always remember that day, you don't have to get it tattooed to remember.

If you want it, go for it. It's not weird. Unless you tell people or specifically show them no one will see it anyway so who cares what others think.
