I got a bloodtest and my TSH was 2.63 mIU/L.

I got another one almost a month later and my level was 4.55 miU/L.

Is it normal that it changes like that? And is 4.55 high?

it does fluctuate.... how do you feel. Either way, I would see and endochronologist if I were you. 4.55 is on the higher end of "normal" btw.

TSH (Thyroid stimulating hormone) is a hormone produced by the anterior pituitary gland. TSH is actually produced under the control of yet another hormone from the hypothalamus called TRH or thyroid releasing hormone. When the hypothalamus determines the body needs more thyroid hormone it releases TRH, this causes the anterior pituitary to release TSH, TSH then travels to the thyroid and tells the thyroid to release thyroid hormone (thyroxin/T3-T4). When the hypothalamus determines the levels of thyroid hormone are normal it stops releasing TRH, this tells the anterior pituitary to stop producing TSH, this tells the thyroid to stop producing thyroid hormone. In your case you no longer have a thyroid, so your levels of TSH are totally dependent on the amount of Synthroid you administer. Your pituitary still produces TSH but it now does nothing. I know this is complicated but this is how we work.

thyroid stimulating hormone is the pituitary hormone that drives the thyroid gland to produce T3 and 4 to help regulate body processes. Dont know why yours is being checked so often, its a slow system...each lab has its own normals, 4.55 doesnt sound high to me.
