I am flying out of Logan airport in Boston tomorrow and I realize it will be wicked busy. So, I wanted to go to the airport tonight and do the bag and security thing before it got crazy. My plane leaves midday so I would chill at the airport overnight. Is it possible to check the bags the day before?

Four hours prior to your flight is generally the maximum you can check bags. While you can check in online within 24 hours of your flight, most airlines will not hold your bag up to 24 hours for security reasons.

You should check with your airline if they have a minimum at the airport, in order to clear all security checks. Keep in mind with the holidays, the lines at the airport will be longer.

Most airlines let you check in up to 24 hours in advance. However, I would expect that tonight is going to be just as busy as tomorrow, especially due to the conditions in Denver.

Instead of making two trips through the chaos, why not just go to the airport 4 or 5 hours before your flight? You can always have breakfast or whatever in the terminal after you clear security. If you check-in your bags tonight, don't assume that you will have more time in the morning.

Good luck!

You can check your bags 4-6 hours ahead of your flight time. Airlines don't generally accept bags earlier than that for security reasons. The best thing to do is to check with your carrier. DO get to the airport plenty early though.... I'm hearing first hand reports of people missing flights because they didn't allow enough time in this busy season. Your reason for getting there early is good, just not overnight. http://www.mousetourstravels.com/carry-on-packing-tips.html

depends. It would up to the airline for something like that. They will always let you check your bag anytime the DAY of your flight, but the night before may be a different story. You may have to beg and plead with the airline, or you may just get a nice ticket agent who will say no problem and go ahead with it.
