my husband's passport expired a year ago, will it be a problem when my application will be processed in January?i wll need hi passport for my application to be processed.

as long as he is a British citizen he doesn't need a passport to prove he is British (unless travelling abroad).
just to be sure get him to apply for a new one.

As long as your husband is a British Citizen or has indefinate leave to remain here or has been granted asylum in the UK then you will not be required to show that he has a valid passport.

However if his expred passport contains proof of his status in the United Kingdom then you should submit it as evidence for your application.

We don't bother with things like passports these days the doors wide open just walk right on in like all the others

no i dont believe so as long as he can prove he is a british citizan.
ie british birth certificate or driving licence.but i would say a valid passport is the best form of id to prove this
