Well Im 17 years old, I dropped out of HS last may to support my brother and sister because my mother was unable to support them on her own... Someone told me I had to wait a year before I could go get my GED, but I want to go get it now because I was a pretty good basketball player when I was in HS chasing a scholarship... than I was forced to drop out of school because if I didnt my mother would lose her kids, So I want to hit the JUCO (Junior College) Route and than go to a major University after that... If anyone can give me and advice on how to get things rolling I would be very thankful...

Thanks

As as I know, there's no time limit (now, if no time limit). Although there may be some employer's who think of a GED as good as a h.s. diploma, they have to realize that some people had to quit because they were in the same situation. Not just a drop-out. I commend you going for your GED and good luck. It's always good to better your education when/if you can. You go for it, don't let anyone stop you. I graduated, but disabled, have epilepsy, on meds. and all my h.s. diploma is just sitting in the file cabinet. Again, good luck.Try to put that GED to good use.

Where I live it is 6 months after you would have graduated.
Get the GED then apply for a federal Pell Grant and go to community college for the first two years...then if you have a good GPA you can get all kinds of scholarships to finish the last two years. This is how I got degrees in both fine art and education.
