if you are a US citizen, you claim allegience to the US...not to another country. If you don't agree to do that, you do not get the privalidge to be a US citizen...in other words, never.

I don't think this question has anything to do with prejiduce but rather "double standards". Like that ole' fuddy duddy rabbi in Seattle wanting all of those Christmas trees taken down. It's not like they had a Nativity scene displayed. The thing about those students wanting a place to worship on a University campus, I say, plan your school schedule so you can go to your local place of worship and do what you need to do. We have become tooooooooooooo accomodationg. Do you ever see such accomodations in other countries? NO. It is becoming so old and tiring. Yes, America is a melting pot but we are still America. America. If this is not what others are looking for then they should stay in their own country.

I guess we could ask for a place to pray. They didn't ask you to spend money did they? Because that goes from 'no law abridging religion' into 'establishment'.
However, I never heard that the Muslims minded a pledge to 'one nation under God', it's the atheists I've heard come out against that. I think there are probably more atheists here than muslims, although I may be wrong on that....

The Day America Changes it's over 200 year old Pledge of Alligence, Is the day i move to Canada. No matter What my Belief (Which is actually closer to Athiest), I feel that America was formed to be a Symbol, A symbol of Right, Truth, and justice.
But most of all, If something in this country offends you, you have the right to leave.
From the Athiests, to the Zelots, America was founded by people who were christians, so we need to respect that.

It's not the Muslims who are trying to change the Pledge - it's an idiot atheist named Michael Newdow. Friggin moron - he filed a lawsuit on behalf of his daughter, who he did not have custody of (gee, what a surprise) and she is a Christian, and apparently likes the Pledge.
He's also suing to get "In God We Trust" off our money. Hey - if it means that much to him, fine - HE should come up with the funding to make the changes.

As far as providing a place for prayer, I personally think that it's okay to designate places of prayer for EVERYONE. If everyone is unhappy with that, then erradicate ALL signs, symbols and indication of EVERY religion since some folks are going to whine and complain about others in quite the hypocritical fashion typical of fanatics of EVERY religion.
Besides, the Pledge of Allegiance won't be changed because of a Muslim...the fact is, it will be changed because of an Athiest.

look this once beautiful country of america is goin to **** quicker than a fat kid after a chocolate cake. we as american's need to stand up and tell immigrants you came to my country, you will not change nothing for you. if you do not like it you need to leave. A revolution is in order, we are being stepped on and pushed around by immigrants, and people who don't believe in god. our country was based on god and that is just part of being an american, u believe in some form or fashion of god. "in one nation under god" that should never be changed that is how it has been thats how it will stay. An any man who changes or is infavor or changin it is un american and has no reason to be in this country.

A non-muslim person would be killed for practising their religion in most muslim countries, and yet when they come to the western world, they demand to be allowed to do as they please.
I believe that they should be allowed to practice their religion beliefs but so should anybody who visits their countries.

of course we will. i too had to endure the horrifying scene in my university library. it started with a few and grew into the 60s+. i would come out of class and they had taken over the library basement, rows and rows of them. it was disturbing. everyone cleared out of there eventually and they took over. it was like looking at al jazera tv or something, like i was over there. i have to admit, they bothered me and many other students and professors, even the employees of the library. they knew people were scared by them.

Why would we have to change the Pledge of Allegiance for Muslims? They believe in God, so "One nation, under God" would work just fine. Are you assuming that the pledge is referring to a Christian God only?
