Will the water make it much safer to smoke pot without the higher risks of cancer when compared to smoking out of a pipe?

I have used a water bong and I feel it takes out some of the taste. I normally smoke from a bowl and you can taste it. It's normally harsher and I like it that way, but it's got the bad stuff in it of course. I know some of you are probably thinking if I'm so concerned about health than why am I smoking right? Well, I just like the taste and the high. I am just wondering if the water really helps? I wonder if their have been any experiments done on this and the results analysized. Sometimes smoking from a bowl burns the throat a bit, I know with the water the smoke doesn't burn. I think it makes it really mild. I'm wondering also if a water bong doesn't take out most of the contaminents, would eating pot and not smoking it be the answer? I won't get tar in my lungs, but can it cause cancer or health issues from eating? I only do it once in a while, so I'm better off than doing it everyday. I want to stop, but I love the feeling of getting high.

Smoking out of a bong is only a different form.
There is a vapourizer out there. You use only 1/4 of what you would normally smoke. The vapourizer increases the efficiency of how the pot burns. Decreasing the amount of pot you would have to inhale for the same high.

Actually, smoking a bong is more harmful than smoking a bowl or a joint. I don't remember the details, but I do remember that is worse for you. The only way to get high and completely avoid cancer risks (which are very low if you just smoke pot and not cigarettes) is to eat it. I recommend making pot butter. You need a fairly large amount of pot to make it, but if you do it right the butter will very very potent. I knew a guy who fired some eggs in pot butter and was super wasted all day. Eating pot can give a much stronger effect than smoking if done properly.

No. Using water a medium cools the smoke down quickly. enabling you to get more smoke in your lungs. Nothing like taking a couple big rips from a water bong. But you should only consider this for special occasions. Otherwise just roll joints my man. Much easier to conceal from the man. You know our police force that so vehemently persecute a flower that grows naturally in the ground. Given to humanity in the form of a seed from God. See more at www.norml.org
Smoke long live long my man!

No the water bong does not filter out impurities. What it does is facilitate more smoke being inhaled at one time to reduce the amount of "hits" needed to obtain a buzz. It does this by cooling the smoke so that it is less irritating to the lungs.

Bong water smells badly after smoking. It's trapping foul, water soluble impurities, no question. Lots of them, apparently.

You will remove some of the tars and resins but it won't make that much difference in your health either way.

Occasional smokers have little increased risk.
