hijack planes?
set their wives on fire?
cheat on their taxes?
kill gays?
judge?
cheat?
commit suicide?
do drugs?
steal?
would we all live happily ever after violence free?
eager to know from atheists that say religion is why people kill and atheists are less likely to commit any crime because they live in perfect harmony in la la land.

so it is safe to assume that not only religion kills people, how about commusim and dictatorship as some people have been stating? i think atheists should come up with a better excuse for not worshipping God than "he doesnt exist" and "religion kills"

secondly, if i can never get a legitimate respectful logical reason from atheists as to why they dont believe in a God, instead i get sarcasm and insults about christianity. thanks, but no thanks heather.

Unless a person can realize the difference between good and evil. And be strong enough to choose the good. Temptations are always present, up to a person to be tempted or not.
Making mistakes, doing bad deeds, these are choices. You have your own mind to use to not have somebody dictate what you have to do or some words dictate that your life should end.
And they are lost. No one deserves the right to ridicule them. They were not nourished as they should have been. They were not fortunate enough to be educated that the meaning of the phrase may not be entirely be the same as the meaning of the words. They cling to what is easy because they were they have not learned from the hardships.
But just like those who choose to do good, they are aware that their deed is bad. It's just they're now in bondage to that familiarity they established with the easy way out of things.
They are lost and need guidance. Do not judge them per se or their families or those from their kind.
Jesus said, "let those who is without sin, cast the first stone."

Yeah of course and apparently religion is the only thing holding back allot of insane people from doing these things, since they can't seem to grasp the whole living without religious morels concept Killing mass amounts of people in the name of god is pretty ridiculous, killing millions for no reason what so ever would be considered insane but acceptable as long as the people could still get cheap oil, no one would care.
When you look at Atheists it is a proven Fact that we commit way less crimes. We are not perfect but when was the last time an Atheist ever tried to conquer the world
Violence is a part of nature, but only humans kill and destroy for any other reason besides self preservation, mostly for their own gain and when they need a good reason to convince people what better reason than god told me to do it when 90% of the worlds population believe in some sort of God

Of course. It's in our nature. Without religion there will still be evil and there will still be good. People kill because it's in their nature, but with some, religion gives them a reason to follow that nature.
Also, it seems like you have a few misconceptions about atheism. You might want to read up on the subject before you post in a public forum like this because it's so easy to make yourself seem ignorant. E-mail me if you're truly interested in more information on the subject, or post a new question to all of the atheists on Yahoo Answers asking "Why are you an atheist?"

Absolutely. Let's look at societies in the 20th century that dispensed with religion, shall we.
1. The Soviet Union: 40-60 million murdered by the state
2. Communist China: 70-100 million murdered by the state
3. North Korea: Systematically starving hundreds of thousands of people every year...to this day.
4. Vietnam: Over 2 million murdered by the state
5. Cambodia: 2-4 million murdered by the state
Yeah....eliminating religion sounds like 'the plan'

Without religion we never would have seen the religious deaths in Ireland, the entire Middle East, Pakistan, Indonesia, India,Europe, America(north, central, south) Asia, Africa.
We also would have never seen any of the rapes, or violence associated with religion. so you pretty well answered your own question.
People in Pakistan, India, and Indonesia do not set their wives on fire for religious purposes. They sit their wives on fire because their wives parents who are poor to began with can no longer afford to pay them a dowery.
There would still be crime if there had never been religion but IT would not be even 1 trillion as much as it has been under religion.
Good point. I am glad to See you are an understanding person and know how silly, awful, and dangerious religion is.

Of course people would kill!
I think you have the religion thing twisted a bit. Religion, in and of itself, does not cause the problem. Instead, those who are in control, those with the power, manipulate religion for their own purposes. They rile up the masses in the name of their specific religion then send them off to lose their lives for the real, underlying reason behind the death and destruction. And what might that be?
Economic gain.
Power.
Acquisition of land and property.
All in the name of religion. Sad, eh? Consequently, if we "obliterate" religion, all we are doing is removing one of the many sources of conflict. We remove a very effective tool from the hands of those who are in control.

Steal, do drugs, commit suicide, cheat, judge - Yes.
The others? Maybe. There'd be a lot less of them, of course, because there'd be far less reason for them.
If you think there was no religion in the Soviet Union, Communist China, etc., you have a very odd notion of "religion". Ever read about communism? Phew...

NO!!! Man is still evolving, hence if not this he will find another reason to kill, it could be color, language, dialect, food, name it and a division will be always there, Man is like a schizophrenic, divided from within, all this that is happening will eventually lead to a higher form of understanding when hell earth will eventually turn to heaven. Everything around is happening for a cause, and is heading the the right way.
