What exactly does the Bible say about homosexuality? Which scriptures is it mentioned in?

The Bible explicitly and implicitly condemns homosexuality in all its forms.

Genesis 19:4ff
Leviticus 18:22
Leviticus 20:13
Judges 19:22ff
Romans 1:24ff
I Corinthians 6:9-10
I Timothy 1:10
Jude 1:7

But it's not about homosexuality. It is about sexual immorality in all its forms. It was because of sexual immorality that the land of Canaan was overthrown by God using Israel.

It was sexual immorality that Israel, and later Judah, were sent into exile.

We are to flee sexual immorality, because it is an offense to God, and ruins intimacy between people.

As to those who claim that David and Jonathan were homosexual, I can assure you that the text doesn't even come close to that. As to those who say we pick and choose what the Bible says about it, all you have to do is read the passages I listed in their context to see it is quite clear. Just as you would read any news article or novel to get what is said, you can do the same for the Scriptures.

The reason that people minimize the Scriptures, and do whatever it is they want or support, is this: "For everyone who practices wickedness hates the light and does not come to the light, so that his actions may not be exposed." (John 3:20)

It looks like you have plenty of references...the problem I run into with this is that there are two sides to all of these verses. I have a hard time believing that God destroyed Sodom for the sin of homosexuality but saved Lot and his apparently formerly-virgin daughters so that they could go do the horizontal tango together in a cave. Then there are these verses to contend with: This was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. They were haughty and did abominable things before me; therefore I removed them when I saw it. Ezekiel 16:46-50 the Sodomites, overweeningly proud of their numbers and the extent of their wealth, showed themselves insolent to men and impious to the Divinity, insomuch that they no more remembered the benefits that they had received from him, hated foreigners and declined all intercourse with others. Indignant at this conduct, God accordingly resolved to chastise them for their arrogance... Josephus, Antiquities I: 194-5 To my knowledge the Bible never says that Sodomites practiced homosexuality. It just says that they were downright inhospitable. The passages in the NT that list homosexuality as a sin also include things like murder, lying and adultery. According to Jesus, if you lust or hate you are as guilty as if you had acted on your impulse, therefore I conclude that these lists were meant to demonstrate that no one is perfect and no one deserves to go to heaven based on their own merit. If that is true, then what these verses prove is that homosexuality is no worse of a sin than telling a lie or overeating, and certainly is not the dreaded unforgiveable sin...whatever that is.

Real simple.

Le 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

God believes in the death penalty.

One of these answers had in it that eating shrimp is an abomination also. While that's true it's an eating law which is required for Israel only and also an abomination is basicall doing something that God never intended for when He created it in the first place which being queer with another man fits right in.

Not only did the Jews have the death penalty for such a thing as this but also other countries all over the world did too because they recognized something that people today are too blind to see and that allowing that kind of thing brings a curse with it - for all.

Le 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

Of course the devil works overtime to throw the Bible out of the schools (which the tax the Christians for and they call the Christians hypocrites) and try to discredit it with all kinds of "science" but, over the years, the Bible has stood.

It was here before this untoward generation and it'll be here after it.

Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."

Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them"

1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Rom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper."

Homosexuality is clearly condemned by the Bible.

It's in Leviticus about man laying down with man. Reason: the jewish tribes wanted to increase their numbers and, therefore, they had 'god' divinely mandate procreative sex.
It's also in some of Paul's letters to the early Christian communities (Corinthians, Romans). Reason: Paul (Saul of Tarsus) was jewish and was conditioned by his religion/culture (the Leviticus stuff, etc.). Keep in mind that Paul was just a dynamic, strong personality whose influence resulted in his letters being incorporated into a religious book (and then later being described as 'divinely inspired').
So, in a nutshell, it's all based on the original desire for the tribes to increase their numbers. Over the years, it becomes so conditioned into the group identity and aligned with concepts of the deity that its origins are completely overlooked.

We are taking this way over the top listen and take note of what god want from us is obedience. Lets go to the very beginning God made man and God made woman. Later he tells them go out and MULTIPLY and be fruitful man on man and woman on woman can not multiply plain and simple so. If you are Homosexual you are being disobedient. God puts that type of disobedience with other sinners liars thieves and drunkers they will not see the glory of heaven, see its not about you its about God and that everything we do in our life time we do to please God not ourselves. What feels good to us not always is good for Jesus our heavenly father god. We were put on this earth to please god. He shows us that being obedient to his word (Bible teaching) we will gain salvation and eternal life. If you chose to be a sinner and be disobedient you are on a one way trip to hell unless you repent it doesn t mater what you ever did or lived like if you repent and live the life Jesus want you to live you are saved and that is his promise. I don t place a bunch of scriptures at you just the promise of what Jesus says in the long run you have to decide for yourself. The most wonderful gift Jesus gave to you is the ability to make your own decisions. He will not make you do anything that you don t want to do that includes loving him.. If you truly believe in him as much as he loves us, then we become obedient to him and we do not question his word and his ways. God Bless You All.

Not much unless you take it out of context and twist various passages to fit the homophobe agenda. The parts that MIGHT refer to it, when taken in context, is understandable given the era and mentality in which it was written, kind of like half a million of the other "laws" and "rules" written in that we wouldn't/shouldn't do now, which we now consider unethical.
