Wow, that's abit tricky. I assume your cat is chewing and ripping off ornaments and pine needles just like what mine would do if i had the time to set up a tree this year. You can try spraying some cat repellant from the pet stores on your tree. Or mix up some chilli and lime in a spray bottle and squirt the bottom half of the tree. Works to keep bugs away and stops kitty ripping off my pandan leaves!!

You can buy cat repellant at most pet stores. It's a spray that smells horrible to cats, but has very little odor to people. Just spray it around your tree and the cat should stay away!

I have 2 cats and one stays away from the tree and the other will not!! I have hear that if to put saran wrap or foil under the tree they will not like it when they walk on it and will stay away from the tree. I have not tried it, we just decorate the tree with non-breackable things and ancor it to the ceiling!! ha ha

There are sprays many pet stores and markets sell that are designed to keep pets off furniture and stuff with their scent. Their cheap and designed so humans can't smell them. Grab a can and spray the tree.
