Try drinking more water before and after you excersize. Sometimes we mistake hunger for thirst.
Also, pay attention to what you are eating. There is a big difference between a salad and a cheeseburger.
Finally, eat slowly and stop when you are full. It's okay to eat when you are huntry. What gets me in trouble is when I continue eating once the hungry goes away.

After working out drink a large glass of water or a low-cal sports drink. That's what I do and if it doesn't cut the hunger I have a teaspoon of lo-fat peanut butter. Then don't eat anything else. Wait at least 30 min and see if you still feel hungry.. Chances are you won't and all will be well. Good Luck.

First off don't get discouraged, this is VERY common! I am a certified nutritionist and an avid runner. Even after many years of my consistent fitness routes I still stumble some days, it's natural. The #1 best thing to remember is simply; water is your best friend! If you have recently turned up your level of workouts and now are committing more time to sweating at the gym you need to be replacing all those lost fluids continuously. If you're not a regular water drinker try one of these tricks: drinking as much as you can right when you wake up in the morning, and anytime throughout the day when you remember stop what your doing and down a few cups of water, try and always carry a water bottle with you or in your purse this way it is easier to grab and consume plus you won’t be as tempted to go buy the soda pop to quench your thirst. The ideal amount of water per day is dependant on how much energy your exerting. Think of it like this: a general recommended number is 8 glasses of water a day (more on workout days).
The #2 important thing to remember is that, like water, you need to be 'replacing' the energy you use each day in the form of ‘calories’. So perhaps this means you need to alter your current eating habits to fit your ideal lifestyle transformation. For example, I try and eat something small every 2-3 hours (like an apple, handful of nuts, banana, cottage cheese, etc.) Foods that are high in essential energy sources work are perfect for someone who is active daily, and in my case a vegetarian. Also, I spend time looking at labels and learning about foods before I buy/consume them, especially with liquids which are great at hiding empty calories. You will find your own habits that work great for you, and don’t hesitate to ask for help with nutrition it can be very easy to overlook things if you don’t know what to look for :). In general some guidelines everyone should follow include: eat heavier in the morning or earlier part of the day than later, that way you have the rest of the day to burn off any extra calories (but this doesn't mean overeat earlier :). Also, being stuffed from a good salad and being stuffed from too many slices of pizza is NOT the same thing! So be smart with your snacks and don’t fool yourself into thinking all food is equal!
So lets review keys points:
-DRINK WATER, chug in the am, pm, lunchtime, driving etc. (oh also remember that when you're literally working out have a bottle of water near *BUT drinking too much during could cause side aches.)
-BREAK-UP the day with frequent snacks and allow your body to constantly feel satisfied. NOT full or stuffed, just enough food that you don't ever feel hungry.
-Remember to take advantage of your local gym, health clinics, or weight loss centers, (even here), because bodies are SO complicated and can be extremely tricky to learn if we are trying to do it all alone! So ask questions and let others help you, because everyone deserves to know how they function at their prime!
Good luck and PLEASE feel free to come to me with any questions, (they're helpful for me too)!

Is your work-out time when you normally eat? Try to eat something light before your work-out. Such as a yogurt, fruit, maybe a small handful of nuts. Congratulations on your fitness goals, exercise is the best way to take off the pounds and help your emotional well being!

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

I have the same problem. However, I find working out before lunch and then eating protein and vegetables usually does the trick. One of my favorite lunches is a scoop of tuna or egg salad, (preferably with lite mayo or not too much regular) and a greek salad. I feel pretty full afterwards and it lasts all afternoon.

You need to use a product called Access Bars. They are a protein type bar that you eat before you workout. Energy goes through the roof, and they supress your hunger. Please email if you would like to know how to get them.
