I have been trying to load / install Firefox 2 on SUSE Linux but can't work it out anyone got a clue? Clicking on the down loaded file expands the directories.... Try and point YAST2 at the directory and it doesn't help. Feeling thick. I am a resonable Windows user and know some UNIX command (very Little). But this one has me stumped. Can anyone help?

Yast should install it easily provided the repositories are up to date. Firefox 2.0 is part of open suse 10.2 which runs great for us.Updating or installing Firefox otherwise is just via Control center-Yast (supply admin password)-software-software management - then type in firefox. If you're running an earlier version of suse I would recommend installing as root and/or looking for a Firefox 2 rpm.

i talked with an ubuntu user the other day in yahoo chat who couldn't install it either. it wouldn't configure. so maybe it is just the software. firefox usually updates itself. is firefox 2 a beta or something. I'm running ubuntu and haven't tried to install it myself, but i might give it a go and see if i have any better luck
