What a great gift! Maybe buy a die cast and make a tag for it that mimics those Master Card ads like die cast $10.00 and end with "Riding shot gun on a NASCAR track.... priceless"

All good ideas. I especially like the helmet. How about goggles (like Earnhardt wore when he wore an open face helmet). Or maybe a section of seat belt (you can get extender things at an auto parts store or a seat belt at a junk yard)? How about a smal replica hood of his favorite driver and tape the envelope on the back? Look for used car parts on ebay. If you could find a driving suit cheap, that would be cool, too.
Maybe some Dramamine?

Give him some of his favorite drivers merchandise like a hat and like a tshirt or something he could wear underneath the firesuit or something like that since he could get good use out of it or then again you could give him a minature stock car or his favorite driver something creative and cute but not to over the top.

I think those are called Nascar Ride-A-longs. Why not get him a little diecast and tape a card to the passenger side that says, "This is you" or something? Maybe include The words "Ride-A-Long" so that he knows its not a "drive".

Get a picture of that stock car and put it in a box. Then, write a note on what he'll be able to do and put it below the picture.

Buy a small stock car and include a message with it about his ride. That's a pretty awesome gift!

I like Eric C's idea. Give him something like driving gloves or a helmet, you can buy them at Wall-Mart (if I was driving 200 mph, I wouldn't wanna be wearing a helmet from Wall-Mart...but whatever). He'll probably be confused at first, but before he can get any extravagant ideas in his head tell him, "You'll need that for your NASCAR ride-along." Or something like that.
Tell him though before he asks anything, because then he might start to think that he'll be driving or something.
Great gift though!

I did this last year for my husband. I put the track ticket in his Dale Earnheart Jr coffee cup I bought him as a gift! It was a huge success.
