i have tried to change the developer, the amount of developer, clean hair, dirty hair, but it always seems hit or miss, once in a while it turns out correctly but mostly it is turing out brassy. Only in the last 5 months or so. Is it the amount of time on because I usually leave it on for the full 45 minutes even though I am just touching up the roots...is that the problem? Should I only have it on for 10-20 minutes?

It could be the developer and it could be that the company changed the ingredients. I am not sure what brand you use, but the general rule is that after a certian time, the hair dye automatically stops from exerting color. I use Garnier Nutrisse cream and I love it. I always get the same color and this is the only brand that is very gentle to my hair.

If you are following the instructions provided, and your hair is still not looking healthy, you may consider visiting a dermatologist. Also, stress and poor diet, full of junk food, also affects your body, including your hair.

is you get older it is harder to remove the brassy tones from your hair. this is compleatly normal. use a toner or a wash in wash out ash blonde colour on your hair to remove yellowy tones. the toner and wash in wash out ash blonde contain lilac which counteracts the yellow tones.

for me it depends upon the girl. Like I might observe a girl with black hair as well as think she is totally hot yet see a girl with blond hair that is meh and vice versa.
