Whenever something hurts us in life, we have a choice to make: We can become bitter or better. Of course, becoming better by forgiving would be the healthy response.

However, people who believe this may not have been the victim of a truly traumatic situation. For example, if you were drunk and ran over my mother when driving... It would be hard for me not to feel bitter... living in bitterness may seem to be a just response.

Assuming that your indiscretion wasn't as serious... If you value that person's friendship... don't ever give up... they may eventually realise that their life is better with you around.
