Hepato --> liver: detoxifies blood (hence when we drink..ppl might say.."i'm killing my liver") & synthesizes proteins such as albumin, alpha-antitripsin, hormone binding proteins, clotting factors..tons of stuff...
billiary --> gall bladder: stores bile
The liver forms bile (from the breakdown of red blood cells known as bilirubin) and deposits it in the gall bladder. This is released when we eat fatty foods b/c it helps emulsify the fat & fat soluble vitamins (D,A, K, E) and absorb it. Bile is then reabsorbed & recycled from the jejenum.
