Whether it's ladylike or not isn't important. f'-em.
Most people drink everything at the same tempo; beer, wine, booze...which means at the end of the evening out, your friends will have consumed more cocktails than you've had beers.
You're going to survive to tell the stories while they're going to black-out from their 'real drinks'.
'Real Drinks' carry real consequences.
Cheers to your beers!

Don't listen to your girlfriends. Beer is good and who cares if you are a chick or a dude. Go out and drink what you want. Tell them that they need to broaden their minds and have a good beer every once in awhile.

You should also try broadening your tastes and see if you can find a wine or a liquor drink that you might like. You should have at least one drink that you can order and enjoy when you go out with the girls. Try a couple martinis or try a couple different wines. If you can't find anthing, just stick to a good beer.

Drink on Sister! I for one prefer to drink beer when I go out and I drink it straight out of the bottle. One difference is that I only drink imported beer also.
I do have one of the "girly" drinks when I go out also, but I love beer and wine.

I wish one of the guys would post about how they equate a personality with what a woman is drinking in the bar. I can not remember all of them but I think it went something like this...
Drinking beer, cool girl ask her to play pool
White Zinfandel, cheap girl who thinks she is cool
Fruity, high maintenance
Does anyone remember this?

I am sure that the fact that your friends want you to drink the same drink as they are is a measure of their friendship. They want you to be "with them".Continue to do your own thing in your own way .It's better for you and in the long run they will admire you for always being you.

I think its because traditionally beer, lager were seen as a mans drink because of the taste and it was a male macho thing to do. but if thats what you prefer then no-one should be able to say anything to you.

Enjoy your Miller................

I know a lot of women here in Canada that enjoy beer and no one thinks twice about it. Just remind me not to pull your finger.
