I would bring her to your veterinarian and talk with them. She could be allergic to something, she could have picked up a type of skin mite. Also, try to think of anything new you have recently brought into the house. If it's an allergy, removing the source combined with anithistimines and maybe some antibiotics could alleviate the problem. it is also possible she has developed a thyriod condition or another metabolic disorder. But again, this requires a veterinarian visit- and i'd do it before the holiday.
(and one more thing, unless she gets very dirty, weekly baths are not only not necessary but can potentially dry her skin)

The hair is not just a part of your body and it is a symbol of beauty, status and health. It is important for you to take proper care of your health in order to prevent early hair loss. Learn here https://bitly.im/aL9jS It is not a very serious problem and with a little bit of caution you will be able to prevent further hair loss. There are certain uncontrollable factors like pregnancy conditions or certain illness or genetic factors that will result in hair loss. But, this does not mean that you cannot do something about your hair loss.

All the other answers are good. But if you are like me (religously a dog lover) you take better care of your dog than you do your kids, (jk). The fur loss and itching may be something as simple as stress. Dogs react to their surroundings the same way a child would, and with the holiday season here, there may be more going on and it could be irritating her. Good luck!

It's almost always food issues when this happens. Buy a high-quality food with a first ingredient of MEAT and not rice/corn. Try science diet.
Make sure NO ONE gives the dog people food.
After a few weeks if its not improving, go to the vet.

It sounds like allergies. Where are the hot spots? What are you feeding? If it is the same food as always is it a new bag? It could be dermatitis, food allergy, dust allergy....really anything. You should see a vet. Diagnosis on the Internet can't compete with your vets care.

this happens to a lot of dogs, particularly shepards, and it is offten caused by allergies and age, however there is a slight, but vary real chance that it may be a paracite so you sould go see a vet- my do had tyhe paracite and the doc did not catch it for mounths we nearly had to put her down, so you might want to mention that possiblity , i hope every thing turns out okay

Has the vet scraped her for Demodex mites (cause of red mange)? Could possibly be a food allergy.

could it be stress? Lots of times this can severely affect a dog. German Shepherds are commonly affected worse by stress than other breeds.

There are so many different things that could be causing this. You really need to see a vet. And be prepared for multiple vet visits before you pinpoint the problem.
