Macey's without a doubt. It is the largest shop in the world, occupying an entire city block (at about 34th Street, if I remember correctly). It is wonderful. If you are from the UK, go to the Visitors Centre with your passport and they will give you an 11% discount card. 11% off everything you buy. It's brilliant!
PS: You may have heard of Bloomingdales - I went there with my wife and the stuff was SO expensive that we left after about 10 minutes.
PPS: If you go down to the Twin Towers Memorial Site at Ground Zero - which is around the Wall Street Area downtown - there is, close by, a store called Century 21 which is crammed full of designer bargains - clothes, handbags, suitcases and allsorts. Don't miss it!

There are very cute and trendy boutiques on Smith Street in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, which are just 15 min. on the F line subway from Manhattan. (Bergen St. stop). See www.PrimeViste.com for more info.
