My first instinct is to say yes, the world would be a better place. The would be less deaths (significantly less lung cancer) and people would in theory be in better health.

I honestly think the world may not be a better place without cigarettes. Before I explain, I am definately not trying to insult someone who has lost a loved one to lung cancer or cancer as a result of second hand smoke. Also, I am not a smoker nor do I own stock in the tobacco industry.

So with that being said, if cigarettes werent around anymore first lets think about the jobs (assuming we are hypothetically saying cigarettes disappear next week). It will affect farmers, marketing companies, sales professions, plant workers and more. This is turn will throw a wrench in the world economy.

Now, this will sound crazy and it's only a thought. Cigarettes play a role in population control. I am not saying cigarettes are good because they kill people. I am saying that if cigarettes werent here there would be something that will control the human population. It could be in the form of a great plague, birth defects or whatever nature will throw at us.

Than lets think about the people who smoke and will have to quit. I can't stand when people smoke in my personal space, but even worste is someone who needs to smoke and is annoying the fabric of my being because they need a cigarette! Imagine hundreds of thousands of people like that.... that would suck!

Also, tobacco has been used before cigarettes without detramental effects to life. It's the chemicals inside cigarettes that make them so deadly and adictive.

I think a world without cigarettes would be great, I will be the first to say it. I just think the big question is how to go about getting rid of tobacco.. don't ya think.

Merry christmas!

Of course, there would be no more deprivation of oxygen and the lack of nicotine in the body would mean healthier people.. Cigarettes are a filthy habit not only for the smoker, but for anyone around them... Second hand smoke is damaging to other adults but even more so for young children, babies and the elderly. There would be alot of money saved to spend for better things too... like feeding the hungry, clothing the children... etc. Hey while you're at it, the world would also be a better place without any type of alcohol or drugs too! Lets clean up all the nasty habits that affect everyone... there would be no more DUI's and no more deaths due to drunk driving... there would be no more violence and crime associated with the addictions of these habits... What a great idea huh!

ya it would be a better place to live without cigarettes...coz if people don't smoke they won't have problems of lungs and the smoke affect our atmosphere...so without cigarettes, people would live longer, have a healthy life, the environment will be nicer....and u know that even a person who don't smoke can be affected, becoz his friend is smoking......so that not good.

Yes, I think so because people that smoke have some problems and they are not cute or pretty and there stuff smell and there teeth are so gross and i think that is just nasty about there teeth. and people might feel better about there self and have not so many problem and they wont have to worrie about quiteing if they didnt start in the first place. So all you smokers please try to quite please.

i think it would. first, we wouldn't see so much of the medical illnesses caused by cigarette smoking (first- and second-hand). second, we who don't smoke can all have fun at clubs/ bars without coming home smelling like smoke!

No. I feel sorry for people who don't smoke, because when they get up in the morning that's as good as they are going to feel all day. I've been smoking for 30 years, and my LUNG is fine.

If you are a smoker...no.If you aren't the answer is yes. Everyone has their own vice. As long as they do it in their front yard and I don't have to breath it , let them be. I don't want anyone to take away my dark chocolate.
