You're at a party with your boyfriend/girlfriend and your friend. Your friend who doesn't hang out or see you bf/gf that often... then asks YOUR boyfriend/girlfriend to dance and takes her away from your side to dance. Is that ok? Shouldn't there be some form of respect on the friend's behalf? Or is it the bf/gf's problem for accepting to dance? Shouldn't there be some form of mutual respect of "I'm with my partner, this is my partner, you should acknowledge that." Get what I'm saying?

There should be enough trust and security that the one left standing will not get upset if the other one has a dance with someone else. But the one getting to dance shouldn't be threatened if the other one also decides to dance with someone else.
