If your taking flucloxacillin for a chest infection then it is a bit daft to carry on smoking. Smoking won't adversely react with an antibiotic but it may undo the work the medication is trying to do.

Yes you can. Smoking will not affect the medication but drinking alcolhol might prevent the flucloxacillin from working.

One can smoke but one should not. Smoking is our most deadly drug. More people perish from tobacco use than any other drug. And it kills those who are around you inhaling the second hand smoke. 5,000 die from heroin over doses vs 480,000 from tobacco a year. Where is the real drug problem? However respondsible tobacco use should remain legal. And marijuana must be decriminalized..

one presumes you are not taking flucloxicillin for a chest infection as it would not be the antibiotic of choice however flucloxicillin is taken for a wide range of infection ie. cellulitis.. abscesses...phlebitis that can have been cause by poor circulation.... so it follows that smoking will hinder the effectiveness of the treatment as we are all aware of the negativity on the circulation of smoking...... good luck on giving up

Smoking isn't specifically banned - but if you're taking it for a chest infection you might want to give your lungs a break!
