Eating some dried cherries (rich in melatonin) an hour before bedtime is supposed to help. Hopefully you won't need any prescription medication.

when i need to fall asleep and cant, i take a dramamine. i used to take some nyquil but that always left me groggy the next day. When i take 1 dramamine i am asleep in 30 minutes, if i take 2 i am asleep in 15. i usually get an 8-9 hour uninteruppted sleep with them too. good luck!
